BYLAWS CHANGES
- Section 1 Change of our Name. The National Association of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Scouters*.
Rationale: The name is a reflection of what the majority of the active members of the Association are. The Disciples Home Missions lists the staff position as “Director of Scout Ministries”. Also, *Scouters is an inclusive term to mean adult leaders of any youth serving agency, ie: Boy Scouts of America; Girl Scout of the United States of America, and Camp Fire USA, 4-H Clubs, Heritage Girls USA, and even Junior Youth Fellowship, Chi-Rho Fellowship, and Christian Youth Fellowships of our churches.
Section 4 Affiliation. The Association shall maintain affiliate relations with all Youth serving agencies; work with those groups in the life of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) that serve our young people (JYF, Chi-Rho, CYF); and PRAY (Program Religious Activities for Youth).
- Section 5 Headquarters: The permanent headquarters of the Association shall be with Disciples Home Missions, P.O. Box 1986, Indianapolis, Indiana 46206-1986.
Rationale: This just brings our bylaws up to date.
Amendments to the by-laws are spelled out in Article 7 which reads:
These by-laws may be amended by the membership with the following provisions:
